Data protection policy
All of Veitur Utilities’ handling of personal information is subject to the Act on Data Protection and the Handling of Personal Information and regulations deriving from it. Veitur Utilities ensures that the handling of any private data within the company is conducted in conformity with the law and ensures that the processing agents who have access to the private data also comply with the law.
Veitur Utilities informs individuals of the processing of private data that takes place on behalf of the company and its purpose. Veitur Utilities ensures that the processing is only conducted for the stated purpose unless with the full knowledge and, as the case may be, approval of the party concerned.
Individuals can request information on the processing of data that is conducted at Veitur Utilities and concerns them. They can object to it if they feel it is not in accordance with applicable laws and regulations and, as the case may be, request that erroneous, misleading or incomplete private data about them be deleted.

In accordance with the Act on Data Protection and the Handling of Personal Information, individuals have the right to obtain confirmation from Reykjavik Energy and its subsidiaries on whether any personal data about them is being processed and, if so, they have the right to access the personal data and obtain more detailed information on specific elements related to the processing.
